| Fred-Report:
Fred on a mission
In the last weeks Fred was very busy and we didn’t get to see him very often. Fred caught the sailing bug, which is exactly what we expected.
After his excursion to Jersey with Jochen, Fred was very much delighted about the English Channel and wanted return as soon as as possible. So Fred was allowed to go on a second secret mission. Without giving away too much, we can say, that Fred travelled to Holland. From there he crossed the English Channel by motorboat. The weather conditions where quite rough with winds up to force 7 and high waves of 3m, which are not easy to cope with, especially on a motorboat. Of course Fred wanted to steer the boat immediately and discovering the throttle control he shouted “Lever on the table”, and pressed the lever down.
The remaining crew members could only cling to the boat and Fred – in the thrill of speed - slammed the waves. After a while all off the crew felt really ill. Some even became seasick – but I am not allowed to tell who it was.
After this experience, Fred was relieved. After we arrived, we had a little party and because Fred has been so tough, he was allowed to drink a glass of sparkling wine.
The next day, Fred changed over to a sailing boat – wonderful.
And even the weather was improving. After Fred familiarized himself, he even dared to go to the bow – without any safety protection.
This is of course not recommended for imitation and our readers are right to criticize. But Fred was really keen and it is hard to stop Fred. At least he wears his life vest at all times. And the crew was aware and would have immediately initiated a rescue maneuver to rescue Fred. But luckily nothing happened and Fred and his colleagues arrived back in the office well and in a good mood.
