| Fred-Report:
Greetings from Helsinki!
Yesterday evening the ship carried on her journey from Kotka to Helsinki. The ship sailed only 6 hours at sea, that time included pilot voyages on both ends as well. The captain of the Birka Express has a pilot licence for these both ports.
Todays topic was a lifeboat-, liferaft- and Man Over Board drills. 1.Officer was leading these exercises. I kept my eyes and ears open, so I would not miss a thing. Safety is very important factor at sea.
We will leave late in the evening and next port is Immingham. Cross the river Humber, it is nearly an opposite side of the port of Hull. In Immingham they have usually many ships. I wonder will I find my new ship from there,, It would be nice to move up to a ship, which calls southern ports. It starts to get so chilly up north!
Last time I wrote to you about that poster, which had a good life rule. Well, I've had some time in here to think this subject more. And I did come up with more good life rules, for examble:
- Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
- Never trouble another for what you can do yourself.
- Never spend your money before you have it.
And for the last: When angry, count to ten before you speak; if very angry, count to one hundred.
Take care and be nice to each others!
Fred
