After our extraordinary days in South Georgia we sailed to the Falkland Islands. The first day we spent in Port Stanley. But today we spent our time in the wilderness.
Here you can see “My Ship – My home” MS FRAM behind the Gentoo penguins in Saunders.
My foster mother became a bit crazy today as she placed me on a car next to some Caracaras. I have to say, I was a bit afraid, I am not such a hero.
Later on I had to sit between the bones of a Minke whale skeleton. The white around the bones has been no snow; the grass was covered with penguin feathers, as most of the penguins were malting.
I was a bit stressed after all these photo sessions and so I was happy that Linda, the wife of our geologist, took me in her arms.
We spent the afternoon on Carcass Island. Palm trees gave us the feeling to be in tropic areas.
At the beach we could watch many different sea birds. I was especially impressed by a fishing Night Heron.
