Gerlache Strait / Antarctica

Uh - being back on board the “National Geographic Explorer” feels good! Everybody was really excited to see me again!

Lisa brought a gift to the ship for almost all her colleagues. Esther got a scarf, made out of the Arctic Lockroy Tartan. Guess the two of us can now walk the streets in partner-look, because I also got a scarf – made out of Arctic Lockroy Tartan. For me the scarf is a souvenir, which will always remind me of my stay at Port Lockroy. This was an extraordinary experience – l am so happy and thankful that I could go!!!

I guess I smelled a bit pinguinish… . Once all the welcoming was over I had to go and take a bath. Esther gave me a good scrub – and the warm water felt really good.

We then also washed all my belongings and once I was all dried up I simply collapsed – and caught up on a lot of sleep.

I rested assured that I would not be missing out on anything – the weather had turned foul and we were going to start heading north and back to Ushuaia again.
