it is time for another update but actually a lot of things going on and I cannot write about everything.

During the past weekend at anchorage near Kemaman (Malaysia) sports competitions were on schedule! In four different tournaments the crewmembers of Gaschem Adriatic could give their best. I cheered for each one of them. During the darts competition I had a close look and was able to catch an very unusual shot (it is not fake)! How often does a dart stuck up exactly in another and stays?

Three more competitions were available: basketball, table soccer and table tennis. In all competitions there were close fights for victory and the trophy’s to win. Have you ever seen such a beautiful basketball hoop? Probably only on board ships you find such beautiful ones!

Shipsmechanic trainee Philipp from Germany and bosun Conrado from the Philippines played as team international in the table soccer tournament.

Here you can see Andrew from the Philippines in action during the table tennis tournament. Wow, with full effort – can you see how much he sweats? By the way he works as oiler on board

Christoph: Please do not think Fred was just enjoying sports competitions. No, he also worked and re-painted a pump housing. And this without messing up himself with paint – not bad for a beginner, Fred!

Hey, what happened? The world turned upside down or what? Maybe for those in the northern hemisphere we look like on the picture now. Christoph and I are sailing on the other side of the world – on the southern hemisphere (do not worry, we are still moving the normal way and are not upside down)! The Gaschem Adriatic sails at the moment towards the west coast of Australia. Christoph has never been on this continent. So it will be the first time and we will see if he is able to put at least one foot on the ground so he can say: “I was there!”
