The making of... Fred on TV
Saturday, 12th Nov. was a very exiting day. Because Fred was in the newspaper several times, the german TV asked for an interview. What a nice opportunity for Fred, to show part of his home country: Hamburg
Hamburg ist the largest seaport in Germany and third-largest in Europe.
Martin had arranged a harbour tour for today on the 100 year old steamtug "Tiger". "Tiger" has a long and very interesting history and is even today coal-fired. A lot of volunteers help to keep history alive.
"Tiger" was build 1910 and was in service till 1966.
The dimensions of the steamtug: L: 17,32m B: 5,26m D: 2,5 m.
The 240 horsepower steam-engine achieves a speed of about 9 knots with a consumption of 75 kg of coal per hour.
More Information concerning "Tiger" you can find here:

Saturday afternoon the NDR-TV-Team arrived at Neumühlen and made an interview.
Some nice pictures were taken and a little ceremony held about Freds arrival back home. The crew of the "Tiger" took part in all this and was very helpfull.
Many thanks to the crew of the "Tiger" for their good cooperation.
After all, we started our harbour tour.
Hamburg is a very busy port. A lot of of ships, barges, tugboats, mega yachts and patrol boats.
At the end of the day we enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
