Fred-Report:

Early this morning we tied up in Gdansk. It was a bit chilly out but a really beautiful morning with golden glistering skies.
Located at the mouth of the Motlawa River, Gdansk is the largest city in the Pomerania region of northern Poland. Historically a very important seaport and shipbuilding centre, Gdansk was a member of Hanseatic League.
Our Bartender Marek, who went on vacation last cruise, lives outside of Gdansk. Two days ago some of the crew and me received an invitation from Marek.

He invited us to his house for lunch. Marek came to visit us on board during the later morning hours.

It was great to see him again! It was a good half an hour drive to Mareks house.

Gee – he has got a really nice house! It is pretty big and located close to a lake.

Mariola, Mareks wife, and Teresa, his mother in law, had prepared a fantastic lunch for us.

We got a nice soup, a variety of meat, potatoes, cauliflower and salad as well as caked for desert. I believe they spend a lot of time in the kitchen prior to our visit. Marek served us fine Polish Vodka with every course.

We had a lot of fun!
