Fred-Report:

I am sad today because this is the last day I will be on board of the blue little ship Hanse Explorer which became my home for two weeks.

But we still have one day together to discover Longyearbyen before I have to say goodbye. Longyearbyen, the biggest town in Svalbard, is the entrance gate to visit Spitzbergen. There is an airstrip, many hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops and a lot of cruise ships starting their voyage from here.

I went with my Captain to town, we looked around, bought some cards, souvenirs and explored the city. It is a busy place full of tourists as Longyearbyen is the base where the tours in Spitzbergen start. We walked up and down, made now and then a picture of the colorful houses and monuments and had a good cup of coffee in the famous Base Camp Kafe.

Back on board, the time has come to say goodbye to Captain Maggi and her crew.

A last picture with the blue little ship and then Maggi and I walked along the street to the shipping agency Pole Position. I am curious what they do and that I have the opportunity to spend one day in the office with Therese, Terje, Audun and Raphael before I will embark on my next ship: the National Geographic Explorer.

Maggi told me that Captain Olli Kruess from NG Explorer is looking forward to show me Siberia... ohhhh I am impatient to see my new ship. Is it so nice as my little Hanse Explorer???? I am sure I will have fun and discover again amazing places even though I certainly will miss Captain Maggi, Jens, Brandon and all the rest of the Hanse Explorer Crew. I would like to say thank you very much to Captain Maggi and her crew for all these adventures.... I will miss you all....
