This was a busy morning! I got up a bit earlier to make sure that I will not miss the Antarctic briefing again.
At the briefing Lisa told us how to behave during our stay in Antarctica. We are not to leave anything behind but our footsteps in the snow and we may not take anything with us but beautiful pictures and memories. We should keep a safe distance to the animals and always give them the right of way. Also, we should not cross a penguin highway. Hihi – I am looking forward to seeing one of those highways.
After the briefing we had to go to the side-gate area and get decontaminated. I got vacum-cleaned and disinfected my feet.
Once all that was done I signed the biosecurity declaration, which states that I will comply with the rules and regulations in Antarctica.
From now on I am allowed to go ashore in Antarctica! Yippie!!!
