Fred-Report:

Hello, here I am again

as you know I am on the "Polarstern" at the moment, a ship full of scientists, working in an area with quite uncomfortable temperatures.

From day to day it is getting colder and my fur can hardly adapt.

But fortunately there are Christina and Nikolaus. They felt pity for me. Nikolaus crocheted a nice cap and Christina made a nice pair of trousers and warm gloves.

Christina is one of the stewardesses on board and whenever she or one of her collegues serve pancakes or scrambled eggs they just make our day and the sun seems to rise, even if we are sailing through the polar night.

Nikolaus is an extremely nice scientist. What exactly he is researching in the ice I did not understand yet, but I will visit him in his laboratory one day.

With my new, warm polar-gear I can now go out on the ice floes, instead of just looking out of the window. I am looking forward to see how the scientists are working on the ice and maybe I can even assist them.

And of course I will keep you updated!

Yours Fred
