Fred-Report:

Hi everyone! I had such a good time with Sam, but eventually he had to start concentrating to his work again. Not just entertain me! So he suggested that I should sail with a friend of his: Matleena. On 18.10.2011 evening I changed the ship to a RoRo ship called M/S Birka Express.

Here is a crew of 13 persons onboard. Ship is sailing under Finnish flag and route is roughly from Finland to England.
Rauma is a town in Western Finland which has a big port and a paper factory. The wooden houses in the center of the old town are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Rauma is the third oldest town in Finland. Unfortunately I did not have time to go and visit the town. But if there is ever going to be a next time, I'm going to see the town properly.
After leaving Rauma, weather was not so great. It has started to be so cold, rainy and windy up here. Autumn is not my favorite season, specially not at sea. We made a quickly pit stop to Rostock. Discharged some paper and continued our voyage to Hull throw Kiel Kanal. At Rostock I catch up latest news from Germany by talking with my countryman, who was driving the tugmaster. Everything seem to be ok in my home country.
It was night between friday and saturday when we were suppose to enter the Kiel Kanal. There was quite a lot of traffic and we had to wait available lock for two hours. Luckily rest of the Kanal voyage went ok, only two stops. Now we are on the other side and tomorrow morning we'll come to Hull. Weather is sunny and crew spirit is high!
