| Fred-Report:
Being in the land of the midnight sun I couldn't go to sleep during this night so I went on watch on the bridge together with our Pilot Per and the Officer who were steering the Hanse Explorer through the fjords to our next destination: Tromso. I got to know that Norway is a very large country with many bridges connecting islands to the mainland. At approximately 3 o'clock in the morning we passed the famous narrows of Finsness where we had to pass under a long bridge. That was so cool because the landscape around it was great and the view was spectacular.
One hour later I finally went to bed to get some sleep because in a few hours we will be in Tromso where the northernmost University is located.
The town and the scenery are beautiful and Captain Maggi invited me to visit with her the famous Arctic Cathedral this morning.
I could see it already from far away and it is certainly the most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen so far. Wow, I do not have words to describe this incredible architecture. It seems to me that the cathedral was built out of pure light and I was so impatient to see it from inside. On entering the Arctic Cathedral organ music was playing and I admired the colourful stained glass window of the back wall - big chandeliers were hanging from the roof and I just couldn't stop admiring this wonderful unique interior of the Cathedral.
I was wondering from where the music came from and so I went down the aisle and had a look back - ohhh there was an organ with enormous pipes which created the wonderful melody. Again I was impressed of the scenery and the effect of the light penetrating into the building. We could stay for much longer but Maggi and I had to go back on board as our departure time was scheduled for 2 pm this afternoon. A short picture stop in front of the cathedral
and we both, the Captain and I, walked over the long bridge back to the center of Tromso.
And again my eyes were magically attracted by the Arctic Cathedral and the incredible scenery took my breath away.... well well, time is running and our little blue ship was waiting to bring us to new places.
